I moved to Frisco recently and cant wait to get out on the water, where would you recommend I put my boat in? It looks like Pier 121 is 22 minutes away which isn't bad but just wondering what the best place is.
Also any tips for Bass on the lake would be great.
Thanks-Robby |

Little Elm park is probably your best bet. Especially if you plan on fishing. _________________ Jerry Hamon

| I think Little Elm is still free. Oak Point was 2 bucks. |

We,ve been lauching the East side of the lake for a few years now. Mainly Little Elm. Little Elm is a free park to anyone and everyone. At the boat ramp you have vehicles and pedestrians constantly and I mean constantly on the weekends driving around the ramp and boat trailer parking lot. When you try to back your boat trailer to the ramp, its not uncommon for you to be backing into another vehicle "just driving around" site seeing. The Parks and Recreation Director recently suggested the boat ramp and beach be made a "pay" area of the park. They didn't state a reason other that increased revenue, but I can see why and support their recommendation. Week days are good as there is no crowd. Weekends in the Summer can be unpleasent at times.
This Summer we've been launching at Hidden Cove on the weekends. The atmosphere and people are much more cordial and never a crowd. It is a pay park. Annual permit is $75. As a disabled veteran, I get an exempt pass. If I wasn't expempt, I would gladly pay the annual fee. $10 each visit without the annual pass. |
